What does it all mean?
So, I just had an epiphany while I was on the pot. I had recently watched wikidwitch11's video for the witchesvoice collab channel about empathy. There are days when I think I am an empath and days when I don't think I am an empath, and now I have figured out why. Empath's can feel the whole range of emotions, feel it like it's their own. Which I do the latter, and at times I would have to actively make a distinction between my own feelings and others. What I figured out while in the shitter is that I pick up on all emotions, but only a few of them do I pick up clearly, overwhelmingly, and sometimes I have taken those emotions in and made them work for me, because when in the heat of things, it sharpens my senses. I can pick up on love, but less so than anger, hatred, and sex. Happiness, joy, extreme sadness, are almost flat line to me. Now you know lol. How do you make a youtube video about that?

Snowing
This last picture is of the moon. What a night this was! We live on a hill, not a steep one, but long and steady climb. It took all of 2 hours or so for the snow to fall. Maybe 3. The show before the plow got here, was scary, tense, and at times filled with anxiety and cringing. Folks were having a terrible time getting up this hill. Most were lucky and only slid back to the bottom. Only one person ended up in the ditch. The police made regular travels up and down our road and the highway which was kinda cool to see. They couldn't do much but direct traffic, but that in itself was commendable, speed limit being 65 and all.
Even the plows got into the rescuing. One small plow was actually going to tow, by chain, a car up the hill, but then the big plow came through and told the guy to stay on his truck...and he still didn't make it. Finally my son-in-law and another young man stepped out to push him up. Found out later the car was one of the newer cadillacs, the one with all the traction improvements. I think I would've taken it back.
My daughter was thinking about her daddy and dug his car out and scrapped his car off for him because he had to go to work that morning. She is so awesome!! All my kids are.

Pragmatism
I was reading a comment someone had left on YouTube and this video and blog post are not knocking them because they have a better grip on the english language than I do, it is a LMAO at myself for having to look it up because Lydia, at this point, knows more about the word than I do.
Yeah...ADD moment. But Lydia was too cute and so very helpful to me <3
Negativity...it's a disease
My grandbabehs <3 In front is Lydia Eve she is 3 and Isabelle in the back, is 6. Like all siblings, there are times when they don't get along, but really for the most part they do, it's awesome. Isabelle being the oldest tries to "guide" her little sister in the ways of life. One of my favorite sayings I used to tell my kids when they were little that has made a come back with these beautiful little girls is, "Isabelle, you can't hardly mind yourself, never mind what Lydia is doing, and watch out for your own behavior. Lydia's not bleeding is she?", "No.", "Well ok then, carry on."
Here's the thing, I think we could all use this message. Especially when dealing with peers. I don't know what's so hard about supporting folks no matter what they're belief system is. If you are a christian, I wholly support you and love you for it. If you are an atheist, I wholly support you, send you love and wishes for a good day. A polytheist, awesome! May you be blessed in all the good you can do. Wiccan? Love and light my friend. Christo-witch? I send you blessings and I would, and do, encourage everyone who has a different path, just because it's different doesn't mean it's wrong?? I truly don't get that.
If you remember the movie Ghostbusters you know what this is. It's the river of hate and negativity. Only for us it's in the water, the air, all around us and every negative thing we do or say or even think, that energy gathers and spreads like a disease and it's spreading at an unbelievable rate. There truly is no reason for any of us to be so negative to our peers. What if we actually could turn the negativity to love?
LMAO, just now I thought, "Shit! Shit! Shit! This is exactly where I didn't want to be." Anybody know a good way to take back negativity? <3

Um wow
This article just revealed all kinds of stuff that I already knew, but was quite happy with the way things were going. I don't want to do this, just the thought of bringing even a little of it back makes me anxious and I want to have a cigarette.
What my life has taught me is that people hurt you, and it has taken me many years to turn it off. There is no way I ever want to care that much anymore.
I used to, when I was a teenager, black out, only rage was my thing. I always thought it was hormonal, and later in life found out it could've been part hereditary. I would be so hurt, my mother would come off cold to me, she loved me, but I needed the emotional, to feel it. I am so not blaming this on my mom, she loved me and there is no question, she was just very good at keeping it back from me. And I got angry, and then the rage. So I tried to find others who would love me. Guh, will continue this some other time. Going to sleep before I have to go hunt down a smoke UGH!!

My Altar
From the moment I first started thinking about my altar, what her function would be, how I wanted her to make me feel, what sorts of items did I want to represent certain things. Did I want my altar to "blend" so that folks wouldn't know what they were looking at, big, small. I actually prefer a small altar, they are more user friendly.
This is my one and only altar in our space. She holds down the fort and is a constant inspiration to live right. She has a religious appointment as well as craft. You aren't going to find any of those wonderful statues like some have, I love them! I am more drawn and have been from the beginning, to using shells for the my goddess representation, and water. I do have a pig, who is specifically for Hestia, as well as the heart stones and holey stones. Salt, pine cones, deer antler (which I am on the look out for one) for the god. As well as the elements which I use glass tea light holders, 4 of them, one with salt for earth, incense cone for air, tea light for fire, and water for water.
This altar was definitely set up with Hestia in mind, as well as Hecate, Gaia, Pan and The Green Man. Although I see them more as Archetypes, it's hard for me to settle with that because of the little old lady who visits my dreams in her greenhouse. She hasn't come in a long time, but if I fall off my path I'm sure she will be there wagging her finger at me once again. Oh she was so not happy with me.
How do you set up your altar? What is the purpose for your altar? I hope you love your altar as much as I love mine :-)
Have a blessed day!!

Wicked truth
So I get off facebook for one reason, and am coming up with a whole bunch more to stay off of it. Wicked truth...I really think it has helped to kill my attention span. If a post was more than 3 or 4 sentences long, guh! Too long, scroll on by. And now, I can't even sit still to read a book, and heaven forbid, I have 4 books that need studying. Nothing holds my attention for longer than a few minutes, so I have to move from project to project, doing a little at a time as opposed to finishing one and moving on to another. This has got to stop! Hence the reason I have started emailing to keep contact with some folks, which seems to have some pressed because it is easier to keep contact on facebook. It's just so superficial.

Snow
It hasn't snowed here for a very long time. This isn't snow, I'm talking about a foot or more. The last big snow I remember was 2006, I was driving my husband back and forth to work because we only had one vehicle and the snow was so high in the middle of the lane on 370 it was rubbing on the bottom of our Durango. I haven't seen snow like that since, that's been 7 years, wait 2013-2006= 7, holy crap. Can't believe it's been that long. It was nice to see a little bit of snow, but I read somewhere that it would take 8 to 10 feet of snow to ward off any future drought. What would we do without water to drink?

Folk healer or herbalist
I am a folk healer. This one truth has set me free and enabled me to continue on my right path without guilt. I have come to this conclusion because I do not plan on selling as an herbal healer, for one, or "healing" anyone but myself and my husband.
Another question was about my spirituality. Am I pagan, am I polytheistic, or pantheistic? I am all three, actually. For now, as to not confuse things I say I am spiritual.

Food: Meat in particular
I have stated before the meat we feed ourselves is unhealthy because it has been treated badly from the moment it was born. My thinking was, that if we were truly more thankful for their sacrifice, and treated our food with more respect that, somehow, this would make it healthier for us. Maybe just for peace of mind, because, thinking about native americans and how they treated and revered the herds of bison, they lived no healthier, or no longer from what I remember of history. Just thinkin out loud.
